Welcome to DialogWeb
I am happy to introduce the first issue of the DialogWeb. It is a thematic, web-based publication focusing on adult learning. DialogWeb will publish articles and interviews dealing with actual Nordic adult learning issues as well as provide information from the Baltic countries and the rest of Europe. Editorial board (NVR) is responsible for providing information on the actual DialogWeb theme from their countries, and in cooperation with the NVL coordinators ensure that the information is many-sided, show the diversity within the theme and disseminate concrete results. NVR members present themselves in this issue (see link to the left).DialogWeb No. 1.2005 focuses on validation/valuing learning, which is a priority area in the Nordic cooperation in adult learning. The Steering group for adult learning in the Nordic Council of Ministers and NVL co-organised a Nordic conference on validation in April 2005. This issue provides summary from the conference as well as describes validation methods, like work-place testing, competence mapping among immigrants, etc.
One printed issue per yearDialogWeb will be published 8 times a year, 5 issues during 2005. One printed issue will be made yearly and will summarise the highlights of the year and profile Nordic adult learning in Europe.
DialogWeb is one of the three most important information strategy elements for NVL. NVL also publishes a monthly Newsletter and uses the website www.nordvux.net for providing information and disseminating results. Partner search and communication is possible through the open Forum on the NVL web-site.
With Nordic regards,
Antra Carlsen, main coordinator, NVL
