During the webinar, Maria Joutsenvirta will present her experience with and newest research about transformative learning and talk about the initiative “Radical Creativity and Transformative Learning” that is just about to start at Aalto University in Finland.

Her presentation will be followed by a short discussion on the participants’ expectations on how sustainable development can be integrated into education and training.

The webinar is for you, who would like to see education as a driver of sustainable development. Educators, education planners and teacher trainers in the Nordic region interested in promoting sustainable development through different forms of learning and all sectors of education are invited to take part.

Take aways:

  • You can expect to get inspiration about how it may be possible to integrate the vision of a sustainable future into all forms of education.
  • Discussions will bring forth and highlight the dilemmas concerning the complexity of sustainable development issues.
  • You will also get a short introduction to an on-line Inspiration Book, which brings together research ideas, philosophy and examples of pedagogical approaches in teaching and learning for sustainable development.

The webinar is organised by the NVL Network for Sustainable Development in cooperation with Rannis, Iceland, coordinator of an education project within the Nordic Council of Minister’s programme for Sustainable lifestyle.
